Our fully-qualified podiatrists in Northampton, The Northampton Chiropody Clinic provides treatments for all podiatry conditions across Northamptonshire.
Podiatry is a specialist who assesses, diagnoses and ultimately treats or manages lower limb pathologies. Chiropodists or Podiatrists as we are now known diagnose and offer treatment for differing problems including gait disorders in children, adults together with the elderly and other specialist groups; treating the foot and ankle sports injuries, knee and hip pain, heel and arch pain and also treatment for ingrowing toenails, fungal nail treatment and warts and verruca treatments.
Podiatrists must complete a 3 or 4 year Degree and must register with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
You can check the registration of our Podiatrists by visiting: www.hpc-uk.org
During an assessment, our Podiatrist will take your medical history and ask about any medication you are on. We will then visually assess the foot before a hands on assessment. During this time you will be asked a variety of questions about your work and exercise. Various joints will be manipulated to focus down on a particular area which may not be where the problem stems from. Throughout this time the Chiropodist will be listening to you for any information which is always very helpful so do not hold back, even if you feel it is irrelevant it may not be.
The Chiropodist, Podiatrist will then explain the findings and offer a treatment plan. In many cases the treatment can be undertaken there and then and you can leave pain free but sometimes it could take further treatments.
